Common Checkered-Skipper - Pyrgus communis - female - the first one of this season. This was found at the Blue Mountain Wildlife, Inc. butterfly garden late Sunday afternoon. The other species sighted on that visit, and previously shown here, were American Lady, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Monarch, Silver-Spotted Skipper, Spicebush Swallowtail, and at least two more as yet unidentified skippers. All the skippers were abundant, as were the Clearwing Sphinx Moths, but the other lepidoptera were single individuals. Dragonflies were in evidence also, but I only managed to photograph two species.
