American Lady -Vanessa virginiensis - the coup of the day at the Blue Mountain Wildlife butterfly garden. Shortly after I arrived about Noon on Friday I saw this one (or one very like it) resting among greenery just long enough to first form and then reject the idea that it was another Vanessa - a Red Admiral seen on the other side of the Schuylkill River which I posted earlier in the week - but it disappeared before I could get the camera focused. After nearly an hour in which I made a slow circuit of the garden gathering other photos, I found this one nectaring. This is not a well-focused shot, but I have included it to show the top side of the wings.
