This is about as good as it gets for gray squirrel photos. Having fled to a tree and climbed to what felt a safe height, this one was then content to sit there watching me for several minutes.

I was looking for butterflies and didn't even see this Great Egret in the pasture until it decided to fly away while another continued to stalk the tall grass. Note the neck folded and legs extended pose typical of both Great Egret and Great Blue Heron in flight.

This experiment did not turn out as planned, but it is rather interesting. The subject was sunlight shimering on the surface of the Maiden Creek seen through the trees on the nearer bank. But the direct sun reflection overpowered the image and made it hard to see the smaller reflections.
