Bull Thistle - Cirsium vulgare - attracts a lot of butterflies at this time of year. Here we see four species at one time (top, left to right; then lower on right): Zabulon Skipper - Poanes zabulon - female; Silver-Spotted Skipper - Epargyreus clarus; Orange Sulphur - Colias Eurytheme - male; Spicebush Swallowtail - Papilio troilus - female. Within a few minutes, the Silver-Spot moved on and a male Spicebush came fluttering about after the female, then a Great Spangled Fritillary joined the feast.
