Curiosity killed the cat, according to an old saying; but a healthy dose of suspicion has kept these kittens alive into their first winter. One checks her "six" as the other peers from a hole in the trailer skirting. As I may have mentioned before, a stone thrown by the lawnmower made that hole which has fortuitously provided a sanctuary for the mouse patrol where they can be warm and dry while doing the job for which I tolerate their presence. In addition to housing, they also receive wages of about 20 pounds a week of cat food.
