Common Buckeye - Junonia coenia - probably the best photo I have of this species. Not only is it in focus with wings extended, but this individual is not damaged as so many I have seen previously. These have been quite common in the garden at Kernsville Dam for the last month or so, even though I never saw one there last season. This and the next two photos were made on August 26.
