Gray Hairstreak - Strymon melinus - seen in the garden on August 24. This is the first Hairstreak I have ever seen and I almost missed it. My first impression as it flew past was of Eastern tailed Blue, but it came to rest near the path and it did seem just a little bit larger than most, so I clicked the shutter a few times before it flew off. When I saw the large image on the computer, the longer tails and different pattern of underwing markings jumped out at me.
