I love shots of icicles! I've already taken a few down here in Southern Illinois.
I sent a reply to your message on my Hawaiian Heat blog, but just found out it didn't go through, so I'll post it here:
Thanks for responding on my blog. You know, I would have loved all those PI shows and westerns you mentioned, but I didn't really start becoming aware of television until about 1965 or so. By that time, all the 77 Sunset Strip-type shows were finished and the westerns were thinning out. Although I do remember watching and liking Wagon Train, Bonanza and Gunsmoke. And one later western that was on, High Chapparal, was filmed about an hour from where I lived, in southern Arizona. It was filmed at Old Tucson, Arizona, where a lot of western shows and movies were filmed. I even got to go to the set and meet the cast of the show when it was in production. But, I have always loved PI shows, so I feel I missed out by being born too late to enjoy Bourbon Street Beat, Hawaiian Eye, 77 Sunset Strip, etc. They are shows that have never seemed to appear in syndication, so I've never gotten to see a single episode of any of those. More's the pity! Maybe someday they'll be released on DVD in season sets and that's what I like. Buying those old shows on season sets to have and watch whenever I like. Thanks for sharing those memories with me.
Trained in economics and environmental science at the University of Virginia, worked in too many political campaigns to count them all, some bureaucrat jobs, construction, energy consulting, and a decade in law enforcement. Currently semi-retired and own a construction equipment rental business.
